Bob Bickel I have submitted the following LTE to the Pocono Record; I learned today (August 9) that Ian Seagraves will be having a hearing in Monroe County Court on September 20, 2013 at 2pm requesting that his sentence for murder be reduced so that he might be eligible for parole. A quick refresher: On the night of February 3, 2009, Seagraves and his friend Shawn Freemore brutally murdered Michael Goucher by stabbing him over 50 times, covered his body with snow off of Snow Hill Road and then drove away in Michael’s car. They later wrote a “song” describing what they had done. There is a lot of documentation on this murder and the convicted perpetrators of this crime available online. Both Seagraves and Freemore received fair trials and what I believe to be lenient sentences. They have been allowed to live; Michael Goucher was not. Please make a note on your calendar and plan to attend the hearing to show that Michael is not forgotten and that this community still mourns the loss of a man that gave freely to the country and community that he lived in. And that those who stole his life should never be a part of any community again. Please, anyone available on that date should be at the courthouse - these monsters need to stay in jail!
