Boohwal’s 10th vocalist Kim Dong Myun – Industrial robot maker’s dream of standing on a big stage came true. How could Kim Dong Myun ever imagine that one day he will be far from his usual duties and live his dream of being a rock n roll singer. The young man almost gave up on his lifelong dream because of the very much competitive Korean music industry. He said he knew it was not easy to get there and even less easy to stay. Dong Myun thought he couldn’t make it and had little talent compared to others. Oh how wrong he was. He continued to live an ordinary life, sang only with his close friends around or recorded some videos on his one just because he loved singing very much. It continued like this until he met Kim Tae Woon, a leader and a founder of a legendary rock band Boowhal who has a special talent of discovering amazing vocalists. The 3 bend members (Kim Tae Woon – Guitar, Seo Jae Hyuck – Bass, Chae Je Min – Drums) have been the same for over years, only the vocalists were changing and now Kim Dong Myun had become 10th vocalist of the group. It’s interesting how this group finds vocalists that are so different from each other and still suit the group perfectly. Kim Dong Myun is an interesting person, also he sits quietly most of the time before performing, he is very shy but as soon as performance begins he becomes another person. His first stage with the band was not long ago, and he rocked it. It looked like Dong Myun was with the band not for month but for years. Even though he was nervous before performing, shaking in fact, he did incredibly well. His voice is exceptional. Dong Myuns vocals are flawless. At least from what I have witnessed. He sings mostly in high key though, maybe just because he is not comfortable with lower range yet, or maybe he is shy for now. One thing has to be said, when a person takes high notes it might be not so pleasant to ears but it’s not the case with him. His high notes are very smooth and enjoyable to hear. His singing is very deep and emotional. You can feel the sorrow and desperation. From his performances you see his desire to prove himself. I hope he will start to open up more and give us more and more incredible performances. For now, he has truly done something great as he became a messenger oh hope for me and for everyone who thinks their dream is absurd or too late to achieve. Dream is not to be dreamed but to be achieved!!!
