Book: To kill a Mocking Bird by Harper Lee All setting and plot - TopicsExpress

Book: To kill a Mocking Bird by Harper Lee All setting and plot in this book refers to the segregation in American’s society in 1960s. The author has used allusion many times to refer to the stereotypical society of the Deep South during that time period to create strong examples to support the theme of the book. The theme of the book is to show the inequality between the whites and the coloreds had still haven’t existed as it was claimed, the blacks were still treated badly and were taken advantages by the whites. The chosen of the plot he created was also interesting because the author had chosen the court judgment to be the climax of the book. From my perspective, I think the author had chosen to do this because he was considering of the audience imperative. His target audience was actually everybody. He didn’t focus on only black people because his goal was to show and ask the world for the equality in the society. Therefore, the author chose the setting of the climax to be around the court because the universal symbol of the court is “Equality”. In every country in the world, the court is supposed to be the place of equality, so the author used this symbol to show whether the equality did still exist or not.
