His box of tricks include house, electro, hip-hop, r n b, rock, pop and even some cheesy old school classics. He spent 4 years at UCT radio, waking up sleepy students as the breakfast DJ and then driving the people home in cruise control on the afternoon drive. He is a boy wonder when it comes to sitting behind a microphone and his quick wit is sure to tell you that this prodigal son is not just good with his hands… but has a head and a mouth to match. He has given a whole new meaning to traffic JAMS! Originally based in Cape Town, DJ Wags spent 6 years playing all around the city, holding residencies at Pulse, HQ, Chrome, La Med, Hemisphere, Wadda and Tiger Tiger. For 4 years running, Dj Wags was a resident dj at Matric Rage in Plettenberg Bay which attracted thousands of matrics from around the country!! He played alongside all the big djs including Gareth Cliff, Lady Lea, Roger Goode, Dean Fuel, Shaun Duvet, Fresh and Euphonik. DJ Wags has a unique style of music that will just keep you wanting more. DJ Wags promises to penetrate, infiltrate and seize control of the uniquely diverse South African music market. Venues that Dj Wags has played at : Pulse, HQ, Cool Runnings, Stones, Saints, Caprice, Rhodes House, Chrome, Wadda, Opium, La Med, Hemisphere, Ignite, Guru Lounge, FashionTV, News Cafe, Tiger Tiger, Vegas in Plett, Ruby Blue, Cobblestones, Roxys, Jet, Stones Edenvale, Vacca Matta, Mibar, LiquidChefs bar, Rocca Bar, Trinity and Clapham Gold. In Dec 2010 Dj Wags was a resident dj at Durban Matric rage for a week and thereafter he went to dj on board Miller Rock the Boat 2010, the most talked about party of the year! The country’s biggest djs, bands and comedians spent a weekend on a 14 story cruise ship entertaining over 2000 people. In 2011 5fm went in search of a new, rising Ultimix@6 star Dj. Hundreds of mixes were sent through and after an intense on-air competition, Dj Wags was crowned the winner. He had the honour of joining the Ultimix@6 Djs Fresh, Euphonik, Dino Bravo & Kent on their nationwide Ultimix album tour in November and wins a one month residency on the Ultimix@6 on 5fm in March 2012. On 1 March 2014, this talented DJ will come show the Middelburg public why he indeed is worthy of his residency on the 5fm ultimix.
