Boston EMS units responded to Logan International Airport today for a report of multiple ill passengers on an incoming international flight. A7, A8, Tango 6, Div1 and C8, assisted by MassPort Fire, worked to assess and treat 5 patients who were then transported to area hospitals. Crews utilized protective personal equipment and their training to protect their patients, other passengers, and themselves. Receiving hospitals were prepared after notification from BEMS. Fortunately, none of the patients met the criteria for any infections of public health concern based on reports from the receiving hospitals and the Infectious Disease Bureau.
