Both Diana Ross and her backing musicians originally didn’t want to record “Love Hangover”. Ross felt doing a Disco song was beneath her. The backing musicians (who included The Crusaders pianist Joe Sample) disliked the change from the relaxed, slow, cool opening part of the song to the rapid uptempo Disco rhythms of its second half. When she was finally talked into it, the song topped the US charts in 1976. https://youtube/watch?v=qJTZrWv5Y9I
