Both my parents came from peasant families, my dad from sugarcane - TopicsExpress

Both my parents came from peasant families, my dad from sugarcane farmers, and my mom from the fisher folks. It pains me that the recent typhoon led to the loss of some of my relatives especially the one closest to us who is the husband of my moms aunt. During the storm, his companions encouraged him to jump off their boat (as told by a survivor). But he refused, saying that he may still die in jumping so he opted stay in his cabin adding that this will make sure that his family will still be able to see his body. He, after, were just thinking about his family, to perhaps lessen the sadness in losing him. He was, after all, like the captain of that fishing boat, and he went down with it. This adds weight to my concern to those who were affected by the typhoon. Naturally, this disaster is not about who were punished and who were saved. Thats fickle thinking and will disrupt religion. Why dont we do something, instead of clamoring whose God is true, to practice what your belief is really telling you to do. Well for me, the Bible of my faith tells me that the most pure religion that my God accepts is to look after orphans and widows. Who are these people? They are all those who were afflicted. Please pray for everyone, especially the families of those who were left, including my own family if you could. God bless everyone.
