Boulder County Commissioners to continue meeting on oil & gas development to June 18 at 4:30 p.m. Temporary emergency moratorium on processing development applications is extended until June 24 The Board of County Commissioners took action last Thursday, June 6 to continue the scheduled public meeting on Docket 12-0003 “Proposed Amendments to Include Phasing Program for Development Plan Review under New Oil and Gas Development Regulations” to Tuesday, June 18 at 4:30 p.m., and to temporarily extend the moratorium on new oil and gas development applications until June 24. Commissioners Cindy Domenico and Elise Jones were present at last Thursday’s meeting, but Commissioner Deb Gardner was excused on a previously planned trip outside of the country. Both Domenico and Jones expressed interest in not taking a position on the proposed oil and gas development regulations until Gardner has returned and has had time to review the Planning Commission’s comments and recommendations from the June 5 joint public hearing with the County Commissioners and Planning Commission. The motion was introduced and approved by Domenico and Jones to continue Thursday’s public meeting to June 18 at 4:30 p.m. in the Commissioners’ Hearing Room, and to place an emergency extension of the current moratorium that was scheduled to sunset on June 10. The new date for the expiration of the temporary moratorium is June 24.
