Bovine smuggling bid foiled , 2 held Jammu, June, : Doda Police in its continuous drive against bovine smugglers , arrested two persons and rescued (22) bovine being illegally transported toward Kashmir valley. Reports said that based on the specific inputs, regarding involvement of some persons in illegal trade and their plan of transportation of bovines, Doda Police intercepted two trucks bearing No. 4081/JK06 and 2696/JK06 near Pul Doda. During search, the trucks were found Jam-packed with 12 and 10 bovines respectively. Two persons boarded in one vehicle namely Shakeel Ahmed S/O Gh. Ahmed and Liaqat Ali S/O Gh. Mohd Khanji were arrested on spot whereas driver of another truck and main smuggler fled from the spot. The vehicle used in the smuggling have been seized and case FIR No. 150/2013 U/S 188 RPC and section 03 Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act has been registered at Police Station Doda and investigation has been started. The search of remaining accused persons has been set into motion.
