Brace yourselves...this is a long one: At the end of December, a lot of people like to do year in review posts of some kind. Because Thanksgiving is upon us and because I already have everything Im working on in December in the books, I am doing our THANK YOU from myself and SOUL Family right now and it actually is going back into last year about 9 days. Just a few days before Christmas last year we hosted (along with JDS & Ninth Street Audiogroups help and inspiration) the 20th anniversary of the first major underground event we did back in 1992. Doc Martin was our guest and needless to say, that party was off the hook. In the (nearly) year that has followed, there have been some major ups & downs, some great events and some lackluster events, but I wouldnt change anything thats happened, even the unfortunate things. We have made some incredible friends and supporters and that FAR outweighs anything negative that has happened. In addition to our normal house music events, we also had/have a big hand in some of the events hosted by The Current, and we also held an entire week of events called WRECK THE DECKS along with GTV Promos and Live Love Local that featured an extremely wide range of genres and drew great attention to many djs and venues. One of those nights was actually just a one-off that is now back as a weekly once again after its success that night (Lectro Club with DJ Just Angel, who has worked hard to keep it going again along with the staff at the Limelight). Also, shout outs to any and all of you who have shared our information/events, believe in the cause and know its TRUE intent and arent involved in the dramatic nonsense that infects ears on the daily. She has taught me to never give up despite any adversity I face. We have BIG plans for 2014, including great guests at our new monthly, E:MERGE, works-in-progress with Puro Pinche and the Deco Arts & Music Festival for Fiesta, plus a HUGE week of WRECK THE DECKS.
