Brady Hoke, the University of Michigan’s football coach, - TopicsExpress

Brady Hoke, the University of Michigan’s football coach, defended his players & team from a sports columnist’s criticism by arguing, “They’re not pro football players. As much as some people want to think they are or treated that way, that’s not what they are. They’re kids who are getting their degrees, going to school and doing what they need to be successful” (The Detroit News, November 8, 2013, 6B). My general response to Hoke’s response: Really? You could have fooled me. Successful, as in successful maybe in the NFL.
