Brayden and I had a great time at the 5th Anniversary Race!!! - TopicsExpress

Brayden and I had a great time at the 5th Anniversary Race!!! Brayden has been sticking to running his 2wd modified buggy and short course to touch up on his skills. It was nice to run into some familiar faces that we hadnt seen in a while. In 4wd SC I was searching for a setup all day that I was happy with. After making several changes, I ended up qualifying in the 3rd spot. In the main I got caught up in traffic on the first turn and got sent back several spots. I worked my way back up to the 3rd spot, but too many mistakes would land me in 4th at the end of the main. Next up was 1/8 Scale Buggy where I felt great all day. The EB 48.2 was dialed and consistent from the first qualifier. I focused on putting down consistent laps in qualifying and getting ready for the main where Bradley Rippee took the TQ honors and I was in the 2 spot. In the main Brad and I managed to get out in front and not look back. He was just too fast for me to catch up to, so we finished in the same spots we started in. With the 4 Mod Buggy class, there were close battles all day. Qualifying was pretty consistent for the most part with a couple tweaks. At the end of Q3 I was sitting 5th on the grid. The main was a ton of fun, swapping positions and battling through traffic. A couple mistakes by the leader and I was able to work my way up to the front. On the last lap I was holding down 1st and trying to keep a tight line to hold off 2nd. Around the last turn I held the inside, but it had me landing on top of the step up and Mike Sontag went outside with a full fist of throttle and cleared the step up. We then both punched it, but he had the cleaner and faster line over the triple to take the win at the end. Brayden ended up in both B Mains and was able to really improve each round. I was very happy with his progress and also his courtesy to the faster racers! Cant wait to do it all over again!!! I want to thank all of my sponsors for their continued support, Tekno R/C, Nankin Hobby, Sumo R/C, Darkside Design, DE Racing, and R/C King.
