Bread of Life John 6:49-52 Your forefathers ate manna in the desert, yet they died But here is the bread that came down from heaven, which man may eat and not die. I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread he will live forever. This bread is my flesh which I will give for the life of the world. Then the Jews began to argue sharply amongst themselves, How can this man give us his flesh to eat? ~ NIV Jesus never feared or slighted away from the hard teaching. He knew there would be some that could not comprehend this teaching and that is very evident by the Jewish peoples response. How can this man give us his flesh to eat? The truth is that Jesus knew that only the Spirit of God could open the hearts and minds to this truth. It is the same with the teachings on the trinity and on his teaching on being born again. When Jesus told Nicodemus that you must be born again, his response was How can a man enter again into his mothers womb? When Jesus teaches of Spiritual and heavenly things only the Spirit of God can open mans mind to these truths. Jesus wasnt speaking of physical cannibalism, he was speaking of giving himself to his people because he is the Bread of life that brings life giving substance to the world. Many people then rejected this teaching and many today still do. If you struggle with this Truth then ask God to send his Spirit to open your heart and mind to his words, because all scripture is true and has been divinely inspired by God. Amen
