Breaking News - Congress Party wants a ban on opinions. After Opinion Polls, Congress now wants a ban on opinions! The Congress party has asked the Election Commission (EC) to ban all opinions as they are erroneous, lack credibility and could be manipulated by vested interests. In fact, opinions expressed by ordinary people are neither scientific nor are they necessary’, said Law and Disorder Minister Mr. Kapil Sibal at a crowded press conference in Delhi. ‘Opinions are dangerous because they represent the views of the majority of the electorate,’ Mr. Sibal said. Meanwhile, agriculture minister Sharad Pawar said, ‘Export of opinions should be banned. Opinions are expensive, but that is not my fault. It is the fault of Narendra Modi.’ Mr. Pawar thundered at a rally in Baramati. He later issued a clarification that he was in fact, talking about onions and not opinions. Congress spokesperson Sanjay Jha said that ‘Opinions are overrated. Look at me, I last had an original opinion in 1974, and I turned out just fine!’ Minister for Information and broadcasting, Mr. Manish Tewari welcomed the move to ban opinions. ‘ Holistically speaking, an opinion is like an onion today in India. They both make us cry’, Mr. Tewari said. Only the Congress vice president Mr. Rahul Gandhi had a different opinion about banning opinions. ‘I do not agree with my government’s line about banning opinions. Is opinion ko faadke fenk dena chahiye. My daadi had opinions, my naana had opinions and my papa was the first person to bring opinions to India’, said Mr. Gandhi. @Shefali Vaidya
