Brief match report - TQ U16 v EO U16. TQ started rather slowly and sloppy, perhaps a little bit of nerves and anxiety was effecting their composure. However, a powerful burst by the forwards resulted in the first try and thereinafter it was full throttle. For the following 30 minutes there was only one team in the game. TQ went into the half time break with a respectable 21-8 lead. TQ started the next half with real purpose and scored 21 unanswered points. The final 20 minutes was a much closer affair with TQ still coming out on top 10-8. A final score of 52-16 was a good way to get the season going. The team played with lots of heart and tremendous passion. However, we still have lots to work on next: Kick-offs, rucking, moving the bay away from contact quicker, defensive discipline, line speed and line outs. See you all next Sunday 10am at SAB.
