On sat 25 th jan 2014 Mel aged 32 had a massive stroke on 27th jan she was taken off sedation but still on life support. She has had 2 strokes and is waiting for a MRI scan . Today 30 jan results back and family are shattered to pieces results have shown Melanie will never be able to breath on her own again, she will be rescanned again but docs av said results will be the same or worse. And will have to turn machines off as u can imagine we are as a family devastated by this news. The family then discover Mel has the locked in syndrome which basically means she is aware of whats going on but cant communicate. Mel then hits front page of our Lincolnshire echo. We then organised a gathering at local field over 100 people attended family n friends we lit candles and firework gathered in local pub to have a drink in Mels honor. Again Mels story hits the echo again. Now the page hits 4000 likes i myself am overwhelmed by the support as I only set the page up in 1st place to keep my friends updated on Mel.
