Brighten up I wish I could heal your heart I wish I could make you start All over so you have that light Which somebody made blight. I wish I could dry your tears And pamper you and give you a lick on the ears. I feel you don’t deserve such treatment As I see it has been eating you like an ailment. Please brighten your day with a smile And you will realize you improved by a mile For life is meant to be lived happily Than to carry your heart around heavily Please brighten up and smile a little So that the sun could shine and we win the battle Rather than go down self-defeatist and pale But grow positively and be happy as if there was some ale. Lady, you are so pretty to be sad And that makes me feel bad At least flash your charming smile and a laugh And you’ll see your heart is no longer in half. Know what is yours is yours And no one can take away what is yours Don’t count yourself as unfortunate For out of ill-luck you could be the most fortunate.
