Bristol/United Kingdom (via phone): When talking about Bristols music scene there is a dominant troika of Trip Hop artists Tricky, Massive Attack and Portishead. Prior to that there has been a small but interesting indie guitar scene with #TheFlatmates being the centre of it. They aimed to find an own musical language somewhere between Blondie and the Ramones. Some of their singles became massive underground hits. Today their drummer #Rocker talked to us about the impact that Mark Stewart and The Pop Group had in creating a local musical legacy in its own right. There were only a few bars to hang out in without listening to charts music. Thursday nights became known under the club name Bunker that Rocker and his bandmates ran.
