Brockton Firefighters serve and protect wherever they are. Yesterday while traveling home from the Public Fire and Life Safety Education Conference being held at the Westford Regency Hotel and Conference Center Lt. Nicholas J. Tropeano blocked traffic to make sure that a disabled vehicle and 2 women in it wouldnt get hit by oncoming traffic (Nobody else stopped, but plenty of people were cursing them out). Both women were very distraught; their vehicle broke down in the passing lane of the highway right after they left their brothers funeral, so they were understandably emotional. Lt. Tropeano waited on scene with them, and once the State Police arrived a minute or 2 later, the trooper and Lt. Tropeano blocked the highway off and pushed the vehicle across the highway to the breakdown lane. Nice work Lt. As a side note Lt. Tropeano is the new Public Education officer and is in charge of this Saturdays open house at Station 6 - 560 West Street. Stop by and have some fun!
