Brown evidently doesnt know that (1) ownership of another person is the ultimate violation of their humanity, so no slave owners could have ever been good to their slaves, and (2) there was indeed widespread abuse of slaves by the owners hired managers, even if the owners themselves didnt raise a hand, and (3) denying the right to learn to read and write was a profound abuse. Brown is ignorant at best. Lord help us if he is elected. His argument comparing slavery to entitlement is totally flawed. The real entitlement we need to fight is the attitude by the 1% that they are entitled to tax cuts and bailouts.
