Bruce! I have come upon an epiphany. Listening to your harmonica - TopicsExpress

Bruce! I have come upon an epiphany. Listening to your harmonica playing has baffled me from day one. Ive wondered where your inspirations have come from. Today, I learned of another harp hero I had no previous knowledge of: Howard Levy. Knowing how well-versed you are with so many instruments, and how delicately and you play. and how wild you can get, I can only assume youve counted him amongst your focal points in the gathering of professional input, because he is now right up there with Toots, Norton and a few others Ive regarded as the best (apparently, I have a far more constricted understanding of the greats of harmonica than Id previously allowed myself to believe) and in watching his videos and listening to his masterful work on the harp, I have two new insights: he is absolutely incredible and you have either been learning from him or are greatly appreciative of his music. If neither of these are true, then check this out: https://youtube/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=XnPSbg9fdEU I am very much interested in watching you guys play still, but have not been able to make a show yet. I will make one soon enough! I also recently saw that Tom Farnham is a member of your band. If Im not mistaken, he used to live near me in Petaluma years ago (on Graylawn), and had a band with a friend named Roy Scott, a base player. If thats the case, all the small world shit applies. Whatever the case, Im really interested in whether or not you know of Levy, (and this may be a really, seriously DUH moment, because all the indications are there) because he is very much reminiscent of, and of the same caliber as, your style and your abilities as a musician. Let me know youre insights, please. And I owe you some salsa and hot sauces: I have not forgotten!
