Brunswick City do it again to sink Whittlesea Rangers 2-0 in Round 18 earlier today. The Rangers started lively but our boys held well and were quick to launch counter attacks, and it was from a Sam Mazzolini cross that found Amara in the box, Amara cool under pressure fended off the defender and then rounded the keeper to put us in the lead. The boys kept their concentration from the start of the second half and launched many counter attacks as Rangers had numbers forward looking for an equaliser. From a clearance the ball came to Giannetta who played wide to Amara, and with a first touch he lobbed the ball in the box where Mazzolini met it with a flying header. The touch was perfect to give the keeper no chance and put us 2-0 up. Chances also came to Juan Pablo and Rikiya but the result stayed the same till the end. Tremendous team effort today with most players putting in a season best performance: Mason (GK), Rikiya (RB) Lachlan and Seamus (CD) Simon (LB) Midfield: Nick A, George and Giannetta. Flankers: Mazzolini and Amara Striker: Joao In the second half good contribution off the bench from Admir, Nick T and Juan Pablo. Unused subs but great morale contribution from Rojdar and Patrick Marra.
