Put on your shoes or high heels and strap them tightly for the 3rd edition of the annual PRIDE WALK. Anyone who supports the LGBT community is invited to join this march, as a powerful signal against homophobia and anti-gay violence and for tolerance and respect. From 5pm there is a manifestation in Mercatorplein in Amsterdam West, at 6 the Pride Walk will depart for the Homomonument and upon arrival the party starts at the Homomonument. PRIDE PARTY From 6pm the DJs will have you dancing at the Homomonument. Meneer Van Lennep kicks off with his delicious mix of nu-disco, indie dance and house music. The arrival of the Pride Walk is followed by the official opening of the outdoor events of Amsterdam Gay Pride. Subsequently Pink Istanbul will take over the stage with its oriental melange of Turkpop, house and pop, spun by Beyza from Istanbul and Erhan Afacan from Amsterdam, and a performance by the Trippin Angels. Techno duo W&DY & Oz Romita, a.k.a. Stripe Two, will provide the steamy and thumping closing act, vocally assisted by Miss Bunty. MENEER VAN LENNEP Robbert Boersma a.k.a. Meneer Van Lennep learned the ropes of spinning records in the roaring 90s in the legendary dikes and faggot club De Trut. There he found his distinctive own style, ranging from rad old disco to nu disco and deep house. He got the crowds moving on dancefloors across town, from RoXY and Mazzo to Hotel Arena and Paradiso. After a well-deserved break, Meneer Van Lennep has re-launched his dj career with gigs at the Homomonument and Tolhuistuin and again as a resident at De Trut. mixcloud/meneervanlennep SJEAZY PEARL This funky lady hails her distinctive house sound from her Surinam roots and a musical upbringing drenched in classical and soul music. Sherryl Pearl Netteb a.k.a. Sjeazy Pearl is a well-known DJ, party promotor and organiser in Amsterdam’s LGBT scene and gained nationwide attention when she won the Dutch TV show ‘Beauty and the Beat’. As an ambassador to Amsterdam Gay Pride, she’s a busy girl these days, but has managed to find the time for a spinning session at the Homomonument. Prepare for some powerful, timeless and genderless music. Its first ever open-air edition will feature a delightful mix of whirling and whipping Turkpop and house music, spun by resident DJs Beyza from Turkey and Erhan Afacan from The Netherlands. She played at Europe’s largest open-air dance club, 2019, after which she quickly ascended to the heights of Istanbul’s underground scene and beyond. Beyza has produced her own tracks, is a member of production duo AudioKnob and has played her deep house and tech house sets all over Turkey and from Europe to the USA. He plays house, tech house and Turkpop and does so all over The Netherlands and across Turkey, from Amsterdam and Rotterdam to Istanbul and Bodrum. Jean-Lous, Marc and Wobine are born performers with a great expertise in dance, choreography and costume design. The Trippin Angels appear at events, fashion shows and exhibition openings and they are omnipresent in Amsterdam’s nightlife. They performed at Zonde and Glitterazzi in Paradiso, at Erwin Olaf’s Black Tea Party and at Milkshake Festival. They each have impressive track records, spinning at venues from Amsterdam and Antwerp to Curaçao and Istanbul, and working with big names like Laidback Luke, Roog, Erick E and Carl Cox. In 2007 they joined forces to form Stripe Two. The DJ duo is a regular guest at Pink Istanbul. She started her career as the lead singer of punkrock, funk and soul bands and did her first gig as an MC in the legendary club RoXY. Now&Wow, Mazzo and Melkweg followed, as well as working with Roog, Deep Dish and David Guetta. As Pink Istanbul’s resident MC, Miss Bunty will be the vocal sidekick to Beyza, Erhan Afacan and Stripe Two.
