Buddy, a 5 year-old young male, is one of the most precious - TopicsExpress

Buddy, a 5 year-old young male, is one of the most precious creatures we have come across in rescue. He was brought to the shelter five months ago in a critical condition, weak and dehydrated, having diarrhea, with a badly amputated tail and a rare deformity at the bottom part of his spinal cord. The x-rays showed that he was missing vertebra from his coccyx (tailbone). According to the doctor, he must have suffered a fracture of the pelvis, probably due to injury when he was still a puppy. The blow crashed part of his coccygeal vertebra which, thankfully, didnt leave him paralysed, but in a way, got absorbed through growing up. However, this caused an anatomical deformity of his tailbone which led to his difficulty to defecate properly. The solution for this was found through eating special food -W/D by Hills- which enables him to defecate normally. Thankfully this deformity doesnt effect his ability to walk and run like all other dogs! In fact going on that 15 walks out of the shelter is something he longs for with great anticipation. He was also diagnosed with leishmaniasis for which he was treated and now he just has to take zylapour tablets until May 2014 when he will be examined again. However, the rest of his blood tests were perfect and now he is strong and healthy. Buddy obviously used to have a home as he appears to be housetrained and behaves perfectly at home. Favourite place: the couch! Walks nicely on the leash and enjoys every second of being outside. Simple things make him happy and smiles blissfully, such as rolling over and over on the grass. Very gentle and affectionate boy, he craves for human contact and attention. Looking gorgeous with a soft and shiny coat he captures everyones heart with eyes that radiate warmth and kindness. An angel on earth! He is also friendly with other dogs and cats. Is anyone willing to offer this tender creature proper care and a safe haven for life?
