BurglaryOct2014 Please take a moment to watch this video. (Link below) It shows a younger black male, thin with some scruffy facial hair as he broke into a home on the 5900 block of Morningside. The incident occurred at around 3am. The home owners had accidentally left the back door unlocked and a laptop sitting on the kitchen counter just inside the door. WATCH THE VIDEO HERE You can see the suspect, who was wearing some type of gloves, open the door, take one step inside and grab the laptop, along with a wallet and watch. What is amazing about this is that he was in and out in quite literally less than 5 seconds. If you watch to the end, you can see him through the far windows running back toward the street. First and foremost, I hope you will watch this to see if you recognize the suspect. Secondly, please be on the look out for someone matching this description. But third and maybe most importantly, PLEASE take note of just how fast a bad guy can take advantage. Although this happened late at night while everyone was asleep, if could just as easily have happened in broad daylight when you were simply in another room. You should always keep all doors locked at all times and avoid leaving valuables in plain sight whenever possible. Even in your own home.
