Businessman and rally driver Ponsiano Rwakataka reportedly mocked - TopicsExpress

Businessman and rally driver Ponsiano Rwakataka reportedly mocked and scoffed at the indefinite fishing ban imposed on him by Kalangala district officials for allegedly fishing and trading in immature fish. His employees were earlier this month caught with more than seven tonnes of immature fish and henceforth banned from fishing around Kalangala on Lake Victoria. But according to Gen Katumba Wamala, Rwakataka has bragged that he gives Shs 40m every month to state minister minister for Fisheries Ruth Nankabirwa - so the ban can never be enforced. Furthermore he added that he [Rwakataka] is friends with Inspector General of Police, Kale Kayihura as well as Internal Affairs minister Aronda Nyakairima. As such, Rwakataka reportedly said he is “untouchable and feared” by everyone in government. Katumba who hails from the fish-rich Kalangala has vowed to see to it that Rwakataka faces the full arm of the law.
