They bear fruit every year and are never worried by a lack of rain.” (Jeremiah 17:7-8 – Contemporary English Version) When the Body of Christ draws its nourishment from God and his word, we flourish. We become more productive in the present and more confident as we move into the future. But when we trust in ourselves and follow what’s easy and expedient, I believe we wither and die.
