But as for me, I will always proclaim what God has done; I will - TopicsExpress

But as for me, I will always proclaim what God has done; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob. Psalm 75:9 Have you ever shared your testimony? Whether you do it in front of an audience or share it with a single individual, giving a testimony of Gods work in your life gives praise to our God. Believe it or not, we are more likely to be heard by our non-Christian friends or family when we share our testimonies than when we preach to them. I know that sounds heretical but our society has gotten to the point where people need proof of Gods existence. By sharing to them what God is doing personally in your life, they cannot argue with your experience. Let me share with you a summarized version of a lady named Dawn Urquico and her amazing testimony of Gods grace. Dawn was married to a man who was a drunkard, a drug addict, and a womanizer with multiple affairs. He aimed a gun at her and their children, was detained several times for robbery, and was involved in a gang rape and murder case. There were nights when she would be awakened by hospital or police station calls. She had suffered these things from her husband for ten long and tortuous years. Her everyday routine was wait, cry and pray. She was constantly seeking and longing for peace but there was none to be found. Later, she became a Christian when she heard her sister-in-law share her testimony in church. Through all of her difficulties with her husband, the most difficult one yet was with a mistress whom he would openly articulate his affections for in Dawns presence. As painful as this was, Dawn kept her faith in the Lord. Our sovereign Gods love gave me the grace to love my husband unconditionally. His mercy and forgiveness taught me to pardon my husband. I continued to submit and serve my husband. There was no bitterness, anger and hatred in my heart. I never gave up. I waited patiently and remained hopeful that God will restore my marriage. Whenever I turned to God and His Word, He gently reminded me of His many promises. His promises gave me so much comfort. I trusted that with Him, nothing is impossible. After losing the mistress to a foreigner, and being charged with frustrated homicide on a separate occasion, he was broken. Soon, he started joining Dawn in Bible studies, Sunday worship services, and dawn watches (group prayers at dawn). It was in a dawn watch that the Holy Spirit touched his heart. For the first time, she saw him broken before the Lord, praying from his heart, and crying non-stop. He asked God for forgiveness and surrendered his life to Jesus. Today, her husband Danny is a pastor, serving God in a local church and preaching to others about the work that God has done and is still doing in their lives. If you were blessed by this story, thats because Dawns story is Gods story through her life and no one can take her testimony away from her. Even if your testimony is not as dramatic as hers, God can use it if you will share to others what He has done and is still doing in your life. This week, share a part of your story to someone and let God receive the praise.
