But if thou canst do anything, have compassion on us, and help us. - TopicsExpress

But if thou canst do anything, have compassion on us, and help us. Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief. Mark 9:22-24 Sometimes it is easier to believe God will [and can] do the impossible for your friends, your family, even your enemy; it seems like every prayer you are praying for everyone else is moving God on their behalf. But when it comes to your prayers [that seem to go unanswered] you wonder will God ever move. This man prayed for his son, and trusted God "COULD" heal him because of what he had seen Him do for others, but when the opportunity came for him to stand on Gods word for his own request, he found himself [although he knew God COULD] doubting if He WOULD. He tells the Lord "if you can do anything, have compassion on us and help us. Take notice how the man responded to the Lord by crying out "Lord I believe, help my unbelief!" God knows we have times where it gets hard to believe He will do it for us as an individual. We have no doubt when we pray for others, but when it comes to our own personal prayers, we begin to wonder if it is at all in His will. This man was as honest as he could be with the Lord, and his honesty prompted God to move on his behalf. That is all God is asking you to do: believe Him, and let Him help your unbelief. He is asking you to prove Him by His word. He is saying I am not a man that I should lie, neither the son of man that I should repent. He is able to do just what He says, even for you (for there is no respect of persons with God). It is a trick of the enemy for us to feel that God is able to bless our brothers or sisters whom we pray for but doubt He will do it for us. I want to tell someone today that it is His good pleasure to give you the desires of your heart. Believe Him in EVERY AREA, because to believe Him for everyone else and not for yourself, is not really believing Him at all. Be Blessed Pastor Gilbert
