But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen you and protect - TopicsExpress

But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one. 2 Thessalonians 3:3. I have covered this before, but after today, I must address it again. Life is fickle. In the twinkle of an eye, life changes. I sit in a local hospital room with my youngest son who had a run in with a lawn mower today and cut off about 1/2 of his right big toe. He is young and yet he has been such a trooper today. He is concerned since he has no insurance and now will not even be able to work for several weeks. Yet, God was so gracious today. He lost 1/2 of his big toe. Wait... Lets look at this a little differently. Nathaniel was mowing with a push mower. He tripped over a planter and pulled the mower onto his right foot somehow. He did lose about 1/2 of his right big toe. Oh, but it could have been so much worse. God was so faithful in so many things today. First, it was just part of one toe that was injured. No other toe or part of his foot was affected. His foot could have been completely mangled or worse. Second, the woman of the house was home. She was able to immediately load him up and take him to the hospital. There was a hospital only a few minutes away. There were nurses and doctors in the hospital. The hospital had electricity, an orthopedic surgeon and an OR. He had cell phone so he could call his family en route to the hospital. Yet, Gods faithfulness did not end here. While at the hospital he had several people come in to see him and stay with him. His family rallied around. His friends and mentors came. He was not alone. Gods faithfulness is evident in so many ways. Yet, in the midst of trials and troubles things can so easily become so skewed and we dont always see just how faithful God has truly been. Such could be the case here. The focus could be only on what was lost. Yet, what was lost is not necessary for life. Life will continue and be quality. Family and friends show their love and that is great. How many times in life do we miss Gods faithfulness because we are focused on what is wrong? How many times could that car have run over you and killed you when you had not turned you life over to Jesus? You could already be in hell for all eternity. How many times did that tree not fall, the flood not carry you away, or so many other things that could have been? God is faithful. Yes, we live in a fallen world. That does not change the fact that God is faithful.. In fact, nothing will change Gods faithfulness. Have you been looking at the wrong things in life? Have you lost sight of Gods faithfulness? Back up and put on a different pair of glasses. Rather, than look at what has been lost, look at what you have. God is faithful. He loves you. He will never leave you. I praise his holy name for His faithfulness today and every day.
