But unless we can get over doting on fathers as somehow more - TopicsExpress

But unless we can get over doting on fathers as somehow more special and heroic than moms who are doing the same things more often and with fewer kudos, we won’t make any progress on the home or work front. We can support dads who want to parent without giving them extra credit. I dont disagree that mothers deserve the recognition, kudos, etc. But it bothers me that this article overlooks another inherent truth about involved fathers, especially single fathers: behind all that doting is overt second guessing of our ability TO parent, constant microaggressions against our very ability to be even half the parent a mother is without constantly having our hands held or our every decision patronized.
