“But whoever listens to me will dwell safely, and will be - TopicsExpress

“But whoever listens to me will dwell safely, and will be secure, without fear of evil.” - Proverbs 1:33 It is our ignorance of God that causes many Christians confusion and problems. Because we do not know Him, we naturally get all sorts of wrong ideas about Him. We think He is an angry Judge who is on the watch for our slightest faults, or a harsh Taskmaster determined to exact from us the utmost in service to Him. We somehow imagine Him as a self-absorbed Deity, demanding His full measure of honor and glory, or as a far-off Sovereign concerned only with His own affairs and indifferent to our welfare. This is the reason that so many people see our loving heavenly Father as One Who cannot be trusted or loved. Who could expect Christians with such ideas concerning God to be anything other than hopeless and miserable. My friend, if you truly know God in an intimate fashion, you do not see Him in this way. You see Him for Who He is, a loving, wonderful, merciful, and holy God who loves you so much that He sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross for you and as you so that He might redeem you to Himself, so that He can live inside of you now and you can live with Him forever in heaven. Yes, there will be outward discomforts in this life on earth, and with them many earthly sorrows and trials. But through it all, the soul that knows God can live in a fortress of perfect peace.
