By guest blogger Humam Farah, MD: The most exciting part of my professional year has always been attending the International ATS meeting. It is amazing to see thousands of clinicians and scientists from all over the world meeting in one place to present cutting edge research and technology. The opening ceremony was outstanding with a message focusing on health equality for all and implementing affordable health care for our patients. The career exchange reception was well organized and exciting to see and interact with many new faces and the future leaders of our organization. Dr Mahatra stressed the fact that we need to prepare our replacement, and as Dr. Finn our President said we have done nothing if we have not prepared our future leaders. So let us enjoy this international festival of science and research, get the opportunity to meet new people, learn from current leaders and help prepare our future ones, and interact with our partners in the industry for what is best for our patients and health care system
