By terra tan — 16 minutes ago I wanted to explain the process (as much as I understand it) for tomorrow. It is not a surgery, he wont be put under, its basically like a blood transfusion. The donor will have his procedure in the morning. The bone marrow will then be flown here fresh not frozen. It will need to be spun because the donor and Brayden are different blood types. After it is spun, Brayden will receive the transplant. It will happen between 7-8 PM tomorrow and will take less than 30 minutes. I know with the word transplant it sounds like a big procedure but weve been told its very anti climatic. The room will be set up and they will be prepared for anything that could go wrong. The are injecting something foreign into Brayden, so his body could react to that. We will not know for a couple of weeks if its working. Once Braydens counts start coming back they will look at the markers and determine if its Braydens cells or the donors. Obviously we want the markers to match the donors. Interesting facts: Braydens blood type will change to match donors He will have to have all his immunizations again If we both agree, we can meet the donor after a year Please say a prayer for his donor for a safe procedure and quick healing. Remember to send us pictures of you in your Team Brayden shirts.
