By the same token, and with all due respect Aunt Judy, should Christians be, as you put it, allowed, to dominate every aspect of every topic conceivable even though this country was founded on the idea of FREEDOM of religion, that George Washington himself stated that this country was NOT founded on the Christian religion and just lately it is you Christians that have been pounding your personal notions down the throats of all to the exclusion of others rights that are protected by the idea of separation of church and state? Remember- atheists also died in that attack. Were murdered in that building the same as Christians were, as were Hindus, Jews, Buddhists, as well as those who were followers of Jainism, Shinto, Sikhism, Rastafarianism, Paganism, Unitarianism, Taoism, Mormonism, Spiritualism, Zoroastrianism, Gnosticism, African diasporic religions, Confucianism- AND YES, ISLAMISTS were also murdered in that attack, so I will ask again... is it fair for upper middle class white Americans to control, dominate, intimidate, manipulate and castigate everyone around you, insising that you mark a grave of 2996 dead human beings of every known spiritual faith with the symbol of just one religion? Aunt Judy, I dont think that is right at all, that it would be the height of disrespect. If this had happened at a meeting in India, say, would you want the sight dominated by only a symbol of the major religion in India, marking forever your precious Christians tomb by a symbol announcing not Christianism, but Hinduism? At the least, respect should be offered to the faiths of all by including proper symbols of ALL faiths, dont you think, not be dominated by one? Please, this is so important for all of you to remember- religious fanaticism doesnt just come in Islamic flavor.
