By the way.... the other interesting take away message from the virtual Obesity Management Summit today was the fact that these Bariatric Medicine professors at the Ivy League institutions consider their patients treatment program a success if the patients lose 5% of their excess weight over 3 months of treatment. 5% !!!! And that is not fat % lost ...but just weight lost ! I could easily get 5% off of my clients in 1 month just by prescribing diuretics. But what would that prove ? Obese and overweight patients need to lose FAT, not just pounds of water ! I have MUCH higher standards for what constitutes excellent progress for my people ! I am not satisfied with helping patients get trimmer by some paltry amount...I want their physiology to become unburdened so that they are actually functioning at a significantly YOUNGER metabolic age! And we can prove that we are getting the job done !
