B’Haram: NAOWA donates relief materials to soldiers’ widows The wife of the Chief of Army Staff, Mrs. Felly Minimah, has donated food items worth millions of naira to widows of soldiers who lost their lives while fighting against insurgency in some parts of the country. Mrs. Minimah, who is also the National President of Nigeria Army Officers’ Wives Association, made the donation while on familiarisation tour of Cross River State. Items donated to the widows included bags of rice, several gallons of groundnut oil, tubers of yam, cartons of noodles, detergents, bathing soaps, clothing, toiletries, among others. Presenting the items to the widows at the 13th Brigade headquarters in Calabar, Minimah urged the bereaved women to see the gallant soldiers as heroes, who fought for their nations. She said, “Your husbands are heroes who died in the struggle to defend the unity and oneness of their father land. Do not lose hope but carry on with your lives and God, who created man and woman, would surely wipe the tears off your eyes.” The NAOWA boss charged wives of soldiers, whose husbands were still active in service, to be submissive, loyal and pray fervently for them to excel in their career.
