I saw a sign post. Department of agricultural and environmental engineering was boldly written. Perfect i muttered. The departmental building consists of a two story building with two parallel and one adjacent block. There is a little passage that leads to a mini market just behind the building. A long, narrow and dangerous road passed from the mini market to zamfara. When i say zamfara, i dont mean zamfara state. Zamfara or zaf as it is widely called is the most secluded hostel in uam. It is the only hostel in northcore and it is a male hostel. For those of you that just gained admission into uam, if you visit your friend in zaf and he offers you meat, please dont eat if you are allergic to snakes, scorpions and even lizards. Why am i saying this? Like i said before, zaf is very secluded so the only visitors students in that hostel tend to see are those creatures i mentioned above. Some of these creatures actually stroll the hostel peacefully but the unlucky ones usually end in the pots of students. Dont ask me it the students eat scorpion and snake. When you go there, you go know. Back to the matter, the two boys wont just attack me in the open except they wanted to graduate earlier than their mates so i had a leverage. I turned back and started walking fast into the the building. The plan was to make sure they lose track of me. Immediately I entered the block, i climbed the staircase and entered a class. As usual, engineering students where battling with their engineering maths, with their heavy text books they usually use as pillow during night classes. They all raised their heads to look at me. Well, no be secondary school so nobody fit pursue me. I located a space very close to the window and sat. I wanted to make sure i see them clearly so that i would know how to escape when they come close. Vivian climbed the stairs, followed shortly by the two boys. For her mind, she don get bodyguard. They entered the first class. I wanted to use the upportunity to escape but i sighted one of the guys outside. I continued my forced reading, spying outside every now and then. The trio finally came out and where about entering the class i was, before vivian sighted a figure downstairs. thats him she shouted, and they all sprang downstairs. That was the only space i needed. I quickly got up, and escaped using the passage that led to the mini market. God bless whoever was ugly enough for vivian to think it was me. I quickly entered the mini market, did a turn and faced the main road. I was going back home. I dont even know if i would be able to sleep in my room today, considering the fact that i was already on the blackbooks of so many people. I was lucky to escape vivian just now, i dont know if i would be that lucky next time. I decided to take one thing at a time. Let me get home then maybe i can think of where to Pass the night. I hurridly went home to find philip standing by my door, waiting for me. Different thoughts crossed my mind when i saw philip. Was he coming to fight me or was he coming to apologise to me? I decided to find out so i walked majestically. I reached for my keys in my pocket and tried opening the door, ignoring philip who was standing just next to me. Guy where my phone? philip asked. Which phone? i asked him back. The phone wey i give you he replied. Philip had given me one of his phones when i complained that i was ashamed of bringing out my phone in public. The phone he gave me was even worse than mine. It rejected every sim card, the only thing i could do with it was to play music, listen to radio and some other minor things. I got angry and dumped the phone inside my bag, i only started using it when my phone was seized. na this kpako thing you dey call phone? i asked, pointing at his phone in my hand. Abeg collect this thing from my hand jare. He snatched the phone from my hand and looked me straight in the eye. I quickly took my bath and went to my fathers house. That was the only place i deemed safe for me. Throughout the night i couldnt sleep, I kept wondering what really happened to philip. Was he under a spell? The philip i knew would not lay his hands on me. Maybe i didnt know him as well as i thought. I woke up the next day very early because i was going to school that day from house which happened to be a pretty long journey. A heavy plate of food was placed on my front. Thats what i hated about home, my mum would always make sure i was punished heavily by stuffing my stomach with enough food that would make me sleep during lectures. I left home to school but not before taxing my dad. Students una know how e dey be na. I also took some foodstuffs. Exams were already aproaching so there was no need to pack too many things. Immediately i reached my house at school, i dropped the bag and decided to check on musa. I was coming through the back when i started hearing shouts from inside the room. I decided to stay behind the window to listen to the conversation. i say make you forget vivian, that girl na bad omen musa said. They started struggling. I ran from the back of the window to go and seperate them but when i reached the door, i saw vivian laughing like a jackass. She had been eavesdropping on them.
