CANADIAN VISA CHANGES The Canadian High Commission in Pretoria has entered into an agreement with VFS to open a Canadian Visa Application Centre (CVAC), providing visa lodgement services that offer greater accessibility and extended opening hours for an additional fee. The use of the CVAC is voluntary and applicants can still apply for visas at the Canada visa office in Pretoria or by using Citizenship and Immigration Canada’s (CIC) online application (E-Apps) system. CVAC is authorised to accept applications in all temporary resident categories (visitor visas, study and work permits) and travel document applications from Canada’s permanent residents in South Africa. It can also provide administrative support services such as the collection of visa applications, fees and return of passports in sealed envelopes to applicants. CVAC can also assist in scheduling interviews on behalf of the Canada visa office. Please note that document requirements and method of payment for applications remain the same.
