CANTIGAS, the only choir in the Washington DC area dedicated to the performance of choral music from Latin America, Spain and the Caribbean, is holding auditions for its 2014-2015 concert season. Cantigas is looking for singers who love choral music and are committed to musical excellence. Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings from 7:30pm to 10:00pm in Bethesda, MD., September through early June. Extra rehearsals are scheduled as needed. Dress rehearsals may be scheduled for evenings other than Wednesday, but always with advance notice. The 2014-2015 repertoire includes music from all styles and periods, and will highlight music from the Spanish Renaissance, Latin American Baroque, Tangos, Zarzuelas and Boleros, and choral music from the African diaspora.
