CCSD will be conducting a lockdown drill in all buildings sometime during the month of December. In order to make the drill as authentic as possible, the exact time and date will not be announced. This type of drill involves teachers locking their classroom doors and students practicing strategies to stay safe and out of sight in the classroom and other school locations. All exterior doors are locked and no one is permitted to enter or leave the building. Office staff will be also participating in the drill, so phones may not be answered as quickly as usual while the drill is underway. The drill will be conducted by law enforcement officers and District staff, and is expected to take under an hour. A letter concerning the drill was sent home to parents on November 20.
