CDC DRAWS RED LINE, NO ROOM FOR CHOPPER. CDC Political leader, Amb. George Weah As the 2014 Senatorial bar election draws near and many of those intending to contest looking for greener political pastures, Liberia foremost opposition establishment is taking no chances with what it is referring to as ”Gravy Seeking Politicians”. The Congress for Democratic Change speaking through its Secretary General sent out a warning that many political pundits are referring to as ‘CDC redline that dare not be cross. Mr. Nathaniel McGill strongly warned that the ”Mighty Congress of Democratic will not allow anyone to take advantage of it in the upcoming election and succeeding once.” Mr. McGill said CDC’s doors are opened to politicians wishing to join it and help make a change in the life of the people and not those wanting to enrich themselves at their detriment. Without missing a heartbeats, he alerted that the party(CDC) is not, and will not give green light to anyone who is suspected to be a ‘gravy seeking politicians’ to take advantage of the party’s unending ensuring popularity by joining the it in no time in a bid of contesting on it’s electoral ticket. He said the party has come to the conclusion that it will not allow gravy seeking politician to use CDC as a doormat to make a political conformation, and at the end of the day, they look the other way from the party and the Liberian people who elected them.It can be recalled that many of those elected on the CDC’s ticket over the passed has cross over to the ruling Unity Party of President Ellen Sirleaf Johnson. The oppositions CDC, which is noticeably on record as the most viable opposition block is led by footballer turned politician, Ambassador George Manneh Weah, who is expected to contest the upcoming 2014 Senatorial election after losing his bid for the presidency in 2005 and the vice presidency in 2011.
