CELEBRATING MOLO CONSTITUENCY NURSES Today is international Nurses day and l recognize the work done by nurses working in Molo constituency and those from Molo constituency working elsewhere. “Nursing is not only a profession and a career. It is service to humanity. A nurse takes gentle care of patients to save their lives or cure their illness just as a loving mother or a sister or a member of the family. This is the reason that a nurse is always called a sister. It is the human element that makes a huge difference in the recovery of the patient. Your work is deeply appreciated by my office, society and the families of the innumerable number of Molo constituents, other Kenyans and patients you would have taken care of. I am sure they would constantly bless you. This should give you strength to carry on working and rendering service to humanity. Today I echo the words of Nurse Donna Wilk Cardillo from her book written for Beginning Nurses “Nursing is not for everyone. It takes a very strong, intelligent, and Compassionate person to take on the ills of the world, with passion and purpose and work, to maintain the health and well-being of the planet.” I celebrate the nurses working in Molo general hospital, the elburgon nyayo wards, marioshoni health centre , arimi health centre, Nyakiambi health centre and those working in the 8 private clinics and hospitals in Molo constituency I also celebrate nurses from Molo constituency currently working outside the constituency like Agnes kanana working at Nazareth hospital, Eli Gacheke and those working abroad like Eunice Gathi, Mary kariuki, and Gathoni Gakunga among many others.Indeed, the value of nurses from and working in Molo constituency cannot be underscored. A vast majority of our nurses continue to demonstrate their commitment to personalized care and recognize that sensitivity to our patients’ needs is the key to their Speedy recovery. For this reason, I am pleased to join with constituencies and countries all around the world to celebrate you and to thank you for your amazing work. My heartfelt gratitude and utmost respect for you and to wish you a Happy International Nurses Day.” THANK YOU.
