CFAO! Passing some important information on Physical Fitness Assessments from Chief Tuck. PAO Guy CFAO PHYSICAL FITNESS ASSESSMENT NOTICE. The CFAO, 2013 PFA Cycle 2 is from Wednesday, 30 October 2013 – Friday, 13 December 2013. Any member with a Physical Health Assessment (PHA), as listed in the Physical Readiness Information Management System (PRIMS), that will expire prior to 13 December 2013, must contact medical to schedule a PHA appointment. If you have any concerns, please contact CFAO Command Fitness Leader, HMC Tuck at 634-6438 or [email protected]. At least one week prior to PFA, all members must: Complete the Physical Activity Risk Factor Questionnaire (PARFQ) in PRIMS. If members have “yes” answers (other than smokers that already have been previously cleared) they need to print out a NAVMED 6110/4 from their PRIMS account and schedule a medical appointment to be either cleared for participation or to receive a waiver. NOTE: This medical appointment does not replace the requirement to have a current PHA. **If you suspect that you may need to see a doctor for a waiver or to clear a “yes” answer on your questionnaire, complete the screening early and get into medical before you miss your window of opportunity. ***If you are being recommended for a waiver by medical, it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to route the waiver through the chain of command for approval or disapproval by the Commanding Officer. DO NOT GIVE A WAIVER TO THE CFL THAT HAS NOT BEEN SIGNED BY THE COMMANDING OFFICER. The PFA will be conducted in the Physical Training Uniform, worn as prescribed in the United States Navy Uniform Regulations. All personnel reporting to CFAO before 30 October 2013 are required to participate in Cycle 2, 2013 PFA. All personnel reporting to CFAO between 01 November 2013 and 30 December 2013 are required to participate in the BCA. An official BCA must be done no earlier than 45 days and no later than 24 hrs prior to the PRT. Activity Schedule: Wednesday, 30 October 2013: Cycle begins. ACFL PRT Wednesday, 23 October 2013: Body Composition Assessment (BCA) – 0630, Camp Shields Friday, 25 October 2013: Physical Readiness Test (PRT) – 0630, Camp Shields * All personnel must have an Official BCA completed between the dates of October 30, 2013 – December 11, 2013.* CFAO PRIMARY PRT ACFL’s will schedule an official PRT date with the CFL for all personnel in their departments prior to December 13, 2013. All testing including stragglers/make-up tests must be completed prior to December 13, 2013. PFA OPTIONS Run, Bike, Elliptical, Treadmill, or Swim NOTE: A “Bad Day” is not authorized for the BCA. A BCA failure ends the PFA cycle. One “Bad Day” may be utilized for the PRT, but must be requested in writing to the CO within 24 hours of completing the PRT and must be retaken within 7 days of the initial PRT failure. NOTE: OFFICIAL NAVY PT UNIFORMS WILL BE WORN THROUGHOUT ALL PHASES OF THE PFA TO INCLUDE, OFFICIAL AND UNOFFICIAL HEIGHT/WEIGHT SCREENING AND CIRCUMFERENCE MEASUREMENTS AND THE OFFICIAL PRT. ****All personnel should plan accordingly. Failure to complete the PFA due to regular leave is NOT justification for an excused absence. An unauthorized absence is considered a PFA failure. Leadership shall review ALL leave requests and counsel as necessary, any Sailor requesting leave that will prevent them from completing the PFA within the prescribed schedule.****
