Photo: Mirror A huge 98-foot-wide asteroid will travel between the Earth and moon today . The Apollo class asteroid is expected to come within 218,000 miles of earth. Named 2014 DX110, it will be closest to our planet at about 9:07pm. Its passing will again raise concerns about Earths vulnerability to asteroids, although it will not pose any threat. As reported by Russia Today the Apollo class are a group of asteroids which cross the Earth and could pose a potential threat to humankind. Last month, a huge asteroid the size of three football fields narrowly missed Earth as it skimmed past our planet at a speed of 27,000mph. The asteroid, named 2000 EM26, was classed as a potentially hazardous Near Earth Object as it is big enough to cause significant damage if it were to hit.
