~~CHEESY~~ Our hearts are very heavy and our cheeks are wet. We had to make the decision to let Cheesy go. His foster mom noticed that his belly was bloated and he was showing signs of FIP....she has seen it before. We made an appointment for him to see the Vet and unfortunately her suspicion was correct. His body was so full of fluid that his organs were hardly visible and his breathing was labored. Cheesy was suffering and we could not allow that to continue. His foster mom was there with him and held him while he slipped away peacefully. Cheesy was a very sweet guy and held a special place in many hearts....even those who had never held him or snuggled with him. His presence just had something special about it. Today is a day that we want to say we quit..the pain is too much to continue to take. Why do we set ourselves up for this heartache? We cant quit and we wont. We are the ones that look at little ones like Cheesy and see hope, we see a chance that is worth taking, we see a life that we may be able to save....a life that would have no chance without us. We will continue, but we will continue with heavy hearts today. Please keep all of us in your thoughts, especially his foster mom. She is going to need some time to get over her heartache. She went above and beyond to show Cheesy more love than he had ever known in his short life. Monty, Sioux, Harry, Bubble, and so many more will be waiting for you to arrive at the Rainbow Bridge our Little Cheese man. We love you.
