CHICAGO - 2018 AD. ...Judgement Day. Fire and explosions surround a whole entire city along with gunfire and mass panic from the people trying to avoid being killed from all of the warfare. A couple and a child in particular are trying to avoid all the chaos that surrounds them by trying to run away from it as best as they could. A little, distraught girl, cradled in the arms of her father in a military uniform as the mother and wife grips her hands onto the shoulders of her husband. Screams surround them. Fear is within the mans eyes as he tries his best to save his family. The little girl screams and cries in fear. Its okay baby, says Daniel Diaz as he tries to run, Daddys got you. Im right here, baby. Massive screams of terror follow behind them as people are snatched into the air by some unknown force or being. Over there, Danny! yells JoAnna, pointing at a parked car with debris all over it. They run towards the car but just before they can get to it, the car is shot by a bright ray of light and explodes before them. The explosion lounges them away from each other. Daniel flies backwards onto the hood of a car, with his daughter still tightly cradled, as Joanna flies backwards onto a wall behind her. The little girl slowly gets off her unconscious father, crying, and tries to shake him awake. Joanna slowly wakes up and rubs the back of her head in pain. Dark, shadowy, unnatural figures start to appear from within the smoke behind her. Daddy, wake up! yells and cries the little girl as she continues to try and shake Daniel awake. Joanna slowly gets up to her feet and sees her daughter trying to shake Daniel awake. Daniel! she yells. Daniel slowly wakes up but his vision of everything around him is blurred, along with ringing in his ears. Daddy? the little girl asks. Daniel hears Joanna yelling for him. from across the street as massive groups of people continue to run in panic between them. Then he sees a dark figure appear behind Joanna. Joanna! Daniel yells as he watches his wife scream as she gets snatched into the smoke and darkness behind her. He quickly gets up and sets his daughter down by the side of the car and tries to run for her. As he tries to run across the street through the people he feels his body become uncontrollably stiff. No... he murmurs to himself and tries to look behind him for his daughter. Baby... he tries to say to her Run! Daddy? the little girls asks. RUN! Daniel yells. He gets pulled into the air by some unforeseen force and witnesses his daughter look up at him in absolute terror. DADDY! yells the little girl as she tries to reach her arm to him. NO! yells Daniel as he gets snatched into the smoke and the abyss of darkness. ****************************** This is all I can remember from that day. The thing I cant remember is anything that happened before that moment. The little girl... I cant remember her name, but I do know that she is something very important to me. I cant remember what happened to my wife. The only thing I know at this very moment is that Ive been stuck someplace for a very long time. Surrounded by screams and yelling by people all around me. Must be thousands of them. Maybe even millions. Kept in rusted cages like animals with everything smelling like urine and feces. I dont know how long Ive been here. Dont even know how I got here. Could be months, and it could be years. Ive lost track because there is no way in this cage to keep track. Everything around me is terror of humans like me. We are watched by some unnatural being. Some say they are aliens. Some say they are demons and the day I remember is the day they keep echoing or murmuring judgement day beyond these cages or walls. They watch us... growling, and sometimes stare at us with what looks like pure hatred for our kind with their red, snake looking eyes. There are some days where they come in groups of three or four just to snatch one or two of the people. Id hear them scream in terror as they get dragged into whatever unforeseen fate awaits them. Nobody knows what they do to the humans they take. What we all know is that our days are numbered as we are here. That is unless... we try to escape. ******************************** A loud explosion echoes through compounds near Daniels cell. The demonic looking guards try to run towards a group of men responsible for the explosion. The men quickly shoot a few of them down while man yells and dashes towards one beast with some kind of sword. He stabs and slashes at it and thrusts his blade into the back of its head as it collapsed. A minor electric shock surges through the mans metal plate. He twitches his head in pain and slaps it. He then walks towards Daniels cell. Were here to bail you out, brother says Jeremy Diaz, Pooks! Take care of this! We got about a two minute window! yells Andrew. Dont worry, bro tells Kawi Rider as he approaches the cell with metallic, artificail mechanical arms We can do this in one. He bends open the bars and breaks them off. A confused Daniel quickly steps out. He may not remember these men... but escaping to anywhere with them is better than waiting to be killed. ________________________________________________ WAR MACHINES - Part One
