CHRISTMAS: I always loved Christmas as a kid. I grew up in a suburb of Boston and it meant snow (I lived on a dead end where the plows would pile up the mounds) no school days, Santa coming by on a firetruck on Xmas Eve, family parties with all my cousins, going to look at Christmas lights, Christmas music, the house all decorated, and the anticipation to see if I was good the past year.... As I moved to Az, a lot of what I loved about Christmas was lost. It wasnt cold anymore. There was no snow. It didnt feel like Christmas to me. My huge Italian family was all back east, but that didnt mean that my parents cooked any less food. I would go back to my condo, have my fake 4 ft tree.... try to feel like Christmas... but it still wasnt the same. It wasnt until last year... when I had the love of my life to start doing these things with. To start creating traditions with. We drove up north to see the snow. We drove around and looked at Christmas lights. We took walks in the hotels that were all decorated, and the outdoor malls.... we started creating our own memories. This year, even though we found out that cutting down a tree up north isnt the Christmas tree I wanted.... we still managed to build a snow man and have a great time listening to Christmas music all the way up and down. Now, I have a REAL Christmas tree in my house, filing it with the best smell EVER - Christmas tree. My fav scent and my fav candles (if you ever need to get me something!) Why am I telling you all of this? Well, it is up to ME to make things happen. It is up to ME to determine if I will sit in the desert and say I cant get excited about Christmas bc it isnt what I was used to before... I know that the holidays are not the best time for everyone. I know that suicide rates are the highest and not everyone is Jolly. I want to encourage you to create your own happiness. There is happiness in the smallest of things and even if you are surrounded by happiness around you, you will never see it until you do your own heart check up. It is a chance for change, new things, hope, and most of all to be there for one another. If there is anything I can do for you, let me know. I want to try to help you any way I can. I am here for you! :) Love ya all! Bella
