CITY ISSUES INFORMATION TO ROOFING/DENT CONTRACTORS, CITIZENS With the recent hail storm that passed through the area, the city has been inundated with roofing and dent removal contractors. The City of Eastland would like to pass along some vital City Ordinance information to those contractors, as well as to you the citizens of Eastland. Any non-residential contractor, business, etc., soliciting business by going door to door within the City of Eastland MUST obtain a Solicitation/Itinerant Vendor’s Permit from the Eastland Police Department, 416 S. Seaman St. Anyone soliciting without a permit will be subject to a citation. This ordinance was put into place in an attempt to protect our citizens. ALL construction work within the City of Eastland must be permitted. These permits are available at Eastland City Hall, 113 E. Commerce. EACH roofing job must have its own permit. Construction contractors may only place yard signs within the private property of a contracted residence or business. All signs must be no less than 15 feet from the curb in any direction. NO signs may be placed in any easement or right-of-way, upon any utility pole, etc. ALL signs must be removed when the contractor completes and vacates the job. No dent removal signage may be placed upon any property, public or private, except that property where a company has set up as their business location. If you would like more information on this or any other City matter, please come by City Hall or call 254-629-8321 during regular business hours.
