Think yoga is a physical exercise designed for contortionists and other really bendy people? In actuality, the word “yoga” means “union with all that is,” and its postures are just one way in the yogic philosophy to practice our Oneness with all things. By exploring the “eight limbs of yoga” in the Ashtanga yoga system, you will have opportunities to study yourself in a deep and profound way that may uncover habits and patterns that have kept you from remembering your Oneness with God and all things. Each week we will explore a different method of practice. The class will provide options for various levels, so you’ll feel right at home whether you are a first-time yogi or an intermediate-level practitioner. Bring your yoga mat and a bottle of water, and wear comfortable clothing! Class #3: “Pranayama or Breath Control” Tuesday, October 8, 6:30 to 8 p.m. You’ll learn breath techniques that are helpful in creating stillness, which is the portal to connect with all that is.
